here are the first batch of photos from my little road trip to the spiral jetty.

the water level was really low, so you could walk past the jetty for probably about a kilometer before the lake "started".

the ground was still damp. like sandy, salty rock, dirty, crusty sand. and some parts of it smelled very strongly of sulphur.

the road to the jetty is 16 miles of "gravel" (read: giant rocks). my wee baby jetta was not happy. next time, i'll bring ATVs.
